Today Yamaha has officially introduced the new V8 XTO Offshore. With a cylinder capacity of 5,6 liters, an unprecedented high torque, exceptional thrust and an exciting 425 horsepower, this is much more than an ordinary outboard. Actually, it is a fully integrated power source that creates an entirely new class of extreme offshore performance and control, especially when combined with the latest generation of Yamaha's integrated Helmmaster® control system, in combination with the CL7 ™ display.

Extreme power, torque and thrust
Delivering the pure raw power needed to 'propel' the heaviest and largest offshore boats and luxury RIBs requires massive gear transmissions and the most robust power sources. Due to the composition of these parts, very large propellers can be driven. The V8 XTO Offshore is also unique in that it is the industry's first four-stroke direct injection outboard motor. The high-pressure direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber significantly improves atomization and increases fuel efficiency. Partly because of this, maximum, approachable power and maximum efficiency are created.

Extreme combustion efficiency
The advanced direct injection system has no fewer than five fuel pumps and generates an injection pressure up to 200 bar! The three-stage fuel pressure system is also equipped with two independent fuel pumps that are activated at specific, individual speeds in a Vapor Separator Tank. This ensures unprecedented high fuel metering accuracy even at maximum speed. The V8 XTO Offshore from Yamaha also features a compression ratio of 12,2: 1. The In-Bank ™ exhaust system sends the exhaust gases to the tailpiece via a direct route and then to the outside via the propeller hub. Partly as a result, optimum flow of the exhaust gases is obtained. In simple terms, this all comes down to efficient combustion and therefore higher power.

The pumps ...
Not only for the fuel, in an advanced engine such as this, unparalleled pump technology is required. That is why the V8 XTO Offshore is equipped with a unique two-stage water and oil pump, each designed for consistent operation at high rpm. The water pump is equipped with a solid rubber impeller and an extremely strong steel impeller. Together they ensure a high output of cooling water and accurate temperature control at all speeds, even under the most extreme conditions.

Extreme toughness and reliability - pre-built
In addition to the extra-large gear transmission, the hardened gears, the robust offshore bracket and the super-strong engine mounts, the V8 XTO Offshore is also equipped with plasma fusion technology for the cylinder walls. This makes the engine not only more durable, but also considerably more compact. The micro-texture surface is 60 percent harder than steel and considerably lighter, allowing us to create greater engine capacity without increasing the size of the power source. The lower surface friction also contributes to a maximum reduction in fuel consumption. The two overhead camshafts on each cylinder bank are driven by a self-tensioning chain immersed in an oil bath for accurate valve timing and long service life. The carbon-coated keyholders increase the durability and provide a silent and consistent timing.

Extreme system integration for power and control
Another 'industry first' of the V8 XTO Offshore is the fully integrated electric steering system, the first of its kind on an outboard motor. So there are no hydraulic lines or rods, so the system reacts faster and more directly than conventional systems. Moreover, it ensures a compact construction. Of course, the ultimate control is a combination of the V8 XTO Offshore with Yamaha's unique integrated Helmmaster® control system, with the revolutionary joystick steering and the excellent CL7 ™ color display.

With this model, it is also about extreme ease of use
The new XTO OS ™ propellers that are specially designed for the enormous torque potential of the V8 XTO Offshore from Yamaha. These new propellers, which work with diameters from 16 to 17? inch produce more thrust, both forward and backward. The latest leaf design brings with its enormous surface the largest boats with less effort and greater control in motion. Thanks to the new exhaust system, these propellers offer another advantage: in reverse the exhaust gases do not have a negative effect, which in turn contributes to a much higher thrust in reverse. This means that maneuvering is considerably easier. With the V8 XTO Offshore you do not have to leave the port for maintenance either. Thanks to our unique oil change system of the tailpiece, it is possible to carry out maintenance without the boat having to leave the water. The V8 XTO Offshore also has a great charging capacity and delivers a total (gross) power to 90 Amps.
