By revealing exciting new models and innovative upgrades across the board of this season's WaveRunner series, Yamaha clearly demonstrates its continued ambition to remain at the top of the global marine market.
Two key themes are driving this season's model changes: first, consumer demand for even more affordable boating that will bring them value for money, fueled so much by the introduction of the VX series and the striking EX line from last year;
second, the goal of making full use of Yamaha's ever-growing array of advanced tech and industry firsts, by including more and more of them in the less expensive models. Such as the revolutionary RiDE ™ system, the remarkable throttle and propulsion control systems with their many related functions, the electronic trim control for instant shifting while underway and the security system with remote control. New models and upgrades announced for the entire series.
All four FX Yamaha flagship models have been completely redesigned with sleek new hull and body shapes that not only have the latest technical developments and easy-to-use features on board, but also offer significant performance improvements.
A completely new model for 2019, the EXR, takes the concept of 'affordable performance' to a new level thanks to its higher speed and even greater maneuverability.
In the high performance and competition sector, performance-enhancing technical changes have been made to the extremely fast VXR and to the latest version of the legendary and super fast GP1800, the GP1800R, which is faster than ever.

1] The FX series - our latest generation flagships
The biggest news in the presentation of the 2019 WaveRunner line-up concerns the latest generation of the four models FX series. The all-round capabilities and the absolute quality of these flagship machines have always been exceptional. Now that they have been completely redesigned in many important respects and even more of the latest high-tech systems and functions have been installed, we dare to say that they are excellent.
It all starts with the new aerodynamic style of the gunboard, which reflects the much admired legacy of the FX, but gives it a fresh, modern look. Appearance is, however, only a small part of this story. Driving these latest machines is now a whole new experience, with electronic control functions, ranging from the revolutionary RiDE ™ system to the advanced electronic throttle system with its Reverse Traction Control, Cruise Assist, No Wake Mode with 3 modes ... and even the magical electronic trim system from Yamaha for gear shifting.
On your first acquaintance, many of these amazing new technical features may remind you of the kind of advanced facilities you would expect in a modern car. Take the CONNEXT color touchscreen, for example, in this branch. It shows clear and concise information, ensures interaction between you and your machine and allows you to operate it in a really practical and useful way; or take the new Multi-Mount system with which you can take your loudspeakers, or your GPS / fisherman, or your cup of coffee ... safely attached to the beautiful looking body of the new FX.
Speaking of the great looking body of the FXs, that too has changed for the better with aggressive graphics and striking new color combinations for our four models. So does the hull, with a new generation design that promises not only more comfort, but also better dynamic stability, 'neutral' handling and more predictable handling.
Of course, you should be able to easily board and disembark from a luxury class yacht when swimming and water sports. So the stern of the newest FX now has a softer, wider and deeper step and double handles. The ingenious water drainage for the footwell should also not be forgotten.
And last-but-not-least, we have to talk about the new generous amount of storage space, partially waterproof - such as the extra large glove compartment and the integral removable drum for personal items, which have found its place in these new FX models.
All in all, the stunningly new FX shares a big blow when it comes to superior excellence in this demanding market. We did not expect anything from Yamaha!
2] The striking new EXR
The EX series was received with applause all over the world as the line of vessels that really hit new ground when it comes to affordability and value for money.
Now also the even faster, fun guaranteeing EXR joins the family. It is a powerful, sporty machine, yet incredibly agile and easy to operate. On the list of unique features is the new design of the hull and body, made from the latest ultra-light NanoXcel2 material, which provides higher speeds and acceleration as well as smooth sailing characteristics, and our advanced RiDE ™ technology, the intuitive, user-friendly operating system that already a revolutionary change meant for the way in which the owners of our premium models enjoy their water sports.
A closer look at the specifications reveals a host of exciting benefits built into this new 'pocket rocket' WaveRunner. A large 50-liter fuel tank for longer fun, easy-to-read multi-function color LCD gauges, a comfortable two-tone seat for those who want to sail alone or with friends, a strong towbar, thoughtful and convenient boarding options - and, to ensure you have a makes a good impression, stylish colors and bold graphics complete the picture.
Despite its remarkable affordability, the DNA that flows through the EXR's veins is pure Yamaha - high-end technical innovation, world-renowned engineering and superior reliability.
3] Performance GP1800R and VXR improved again
In the demanding racing world and with the huge community of high-performance vessel enthusiasts for whom speed and performance are (almost) everything, these two iconic WaveRunner models offer the ultimate in boating fun. But for these people no speed is ever high enough. Is no bend ever sharp enough taken!
So more performance enhancements are being introduced for 2019, with new competition-inspired upright surfaces and intake grilles with top entry, giving both models even sharper and better maneuverability, combined with better 'grip' on rough water and the possibility to cut curves super sharp. The GP1800R already has the latest superlight NanoXcel2 hull, but now this remarkable material is also used for the hull of the VXR, giving it the same benefits of better acceleration, speed and handling.
Of course, the eye also wants something, so the stunning new colors and graphics will make these impressive machines stand out in any company.

VX SERIES Yamaha's line-up of fourteen models also includes the four complete and at the same time attractively priced models of the VX series. They offer remarkable all-round capacities, and are economical and reliable.
EX SERIES - Thanks to the four models of the EX series the vessels in this sector reach an amazingly affordable level, with spicy performance, comfortable sailing behavior and economical operating costs. And this year will be the exciting, completely new EXR added to this range, with an impressive amount of features that are worth their money and which are normally only found on premium models.
GP1800R and VXR - The unprecedentedly powerful GP1800 with supercharger is the undisputed star of the series and popular worldwide, just like his high-performance sister, the VXR. Both models undergo an upgrade for 2019 for better performance, where the GP1800 for this occasion the GP1800R is becoming.
SUPERJET - The unique and unmistakable stand-up machine SuperJet, another legendary Yamaha in the competition world, has been specially developed for competition and is now more popular than ever.
