Feel the power: Yamaha introduces new V MAX SHO outboards in Europe

  • Two new higher-power V MAX SHO engines join Yamaha's European model line-up for 2026
  • A 4.2L V6 design with super-high power combined with a lightweight and compact build, suitable for more types of boats.
  • Ultimate acceleration suits a wide range of water sports, such as match fishing, where the time to reach the fishing spot is crucial for success.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Yamaha Motor Europe is proud to announce the arrival of two new additions to its outboard engine range: The V MAX SHO 250 hp and V MAX SHO 200 hp. These Super High Output (SHO) models have already established a strong reputation for delivering uncompromising performance and are now ready to thrill European boaters for the first time.

Built specifically for fast thrill rides and water sports, both engines share a powerful 4.2-litre V6 platform and deliver explosive acceleration, responsive handling and the raw torque needed for adrenaline-fuelled days on the water. Despite their dimensions, both engines are remarkably lightweight thanks to clever techniques such as plasma-welded direct cylinders and Yamaha's commitment to compact performance.

Whether you are tearing across open water or pulling hard through sharp turns, these new additions to the V MAX SHO range are agile, responsive and ready to perform.

Key features are:

  • 4.2L V6 design with super-high power (SHO)
Tuned for responsive torque and race-level acceleration, this SHO V6 platform delivers exhilarating performance without unnecessary bulk, which is ideal for performance cruising.
  • Lightweight and compact design
Both engines feature plasma-welded direct cylinders and sleek Yamaha engineering, offering a superior power-to-weight ratio. The result is faster launches, sharper cornering and better lift.
  • Power Trim & Tilt with TotalTilt™
Full tilt up/down control from any angle with a simple double tap of the button. Perfect for shallow launch platforms, docking and trailering, saving time and reducing effort.
  • Powerful 70-amp alternator
Reliable 12 V, 70 A electrical power provides full support for onboard systems - fishfinders, lights, bilge pumps - without stressing the engine at low speeds.
  • Distinctive V MAX SHO style
Bold fairing contours, aggressive graphics and performance-inspired finishes give these bikes a look as sleek as their acceleration. Built to turn heads on any hull.
  • Electronic fuel injection (EFI)
Delivers smooth, crisp throttle response, excellent economy and consistent power delivery.
  • DOHC, 24-valve configuration with TCI ignition
Improves airflow, combustion efficiency and starting reliability at all speeds.
  • Quiet, refined operation
Precise engine tuning reduces vibration and engine noise for a smooth, premium experience.
